Knowledge Base of Frisian Grammar

Abstract:
In my talk,
- I will provide a state-of-the-art overview of grammatical research on Frisian,
- I will point out the relevance of the study of Frisian for the study of the neighbouring dialects, and
- I will discuss the plans for constructing a knowledge base of Frisian Grammar.
Special attention will be given to the question of how linguists not familiar with Frisian can find not only the information they are looking for, but also be given creative ideas for future research. To do so, I present as blueprint for developing a knowledge base of Frisian grammar.
